Hybrid Power. Smarter Performance.
At the core of the CR550 is an innovative diesel-hybrid drive system. A 19kW diesel engine works alongside a 10kW electric motor, delivering instant power assistance during heavy loads while recharging the onboard battery during lighter operation.
This intelligent combination allows the CR550 to outperform expectations for its size, while meeting strict global emissions standards. You get exceptional output, improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact — all without unnecessary bulk.
Key Features
-
Compact and trailer transportable

Remote control operation as standard
-
Intelligent ‘no-stress’ and ‘anti-stall’ systems
-
Simple, accessible maintenance points
Built for Real-World Applications
Compact Size. Serious Capability.
Despite being the largest model in the compact range, the CR550 measures just 1,270mm wide and weighs under 2,800kg. It can be towed on a standard trailer using a regular UK driving licence — ideal for operators and hire companies moving efficiently between sites.
The 560mm x 275mm jaw aperture is hydraulically adjustable, producing material from 3mm to 75mm at the push of a button. Operators can also select jaw stroke direction to match the material: an upward stroke for softer materials such as tarmac, or a downward stroke for hard stone.
Control, Safety and Uptime
Remote control operation comes as standard, enabling operators to track, position and operate the crusher from a safe distance — even from inside an excavator cab.
Dragon Equipment’s proven ‘no-stress’ and ‘anti-stall’ technology maximises productivity by automatically reversing the jaws or pausing the feed when needed. This protects the crusher box, prevents blockages and keeps operations running smoothly.
Designed for Long Working Days
A 33-litre fuel tank delivers more than eight hours of continuous crushing. Servicing is straightforward thanks to a hinged bonnet, central greasing point and optional auto-greasing system — helping to reduce downtime and simplify routine maintenance.
Built in Suffolk
Like all Dragon Equipment machines, the CR550 Hybrid Crusher is designed and manufactured in Suffolk. Around 80–85% of components are sourced within 50 miles of the factory, supporting local suppliers and reducing production emissions.
Power Without the Bulk
The CR550 Hybrid Crusher sets a new benchmark in compact crushing — maximum performance with a minimal footprint. Powerful, efficient and easy to transport, it’s built to meet the demands of modern demolition and recycling.
